Thermodyne rack cases

Rugged 19-inch rack cases with a choice of shock-isolation systems for sensitive electronic equipment across a wide range of payloads, with different shock-isolation configurations selected according to equipment weight and sensitivity.

Built around a standard 19-inch EIA rack format, Thermodyne Rack-Pack cases are available across a range of rack heights and frame depths. The rack frame is independently shock-mounted within a rugged outer shell, helping isolate installed electronics from impacts and repetitive vibration during transport.

Quadraflex is one of the isolation configurations available within the range. Its corner-mounted shock absorbers are intended for lighter equipment and multi-directional impacts. For heavier payloads, Thermodyne offers side-mounted systems, with cable-type and compact isolation options also available.

This gives B&D flexibility to match the rack format and isolation approach to the installed system while keeping the overall product selection focused on the equipment requirement.

Why choose this solution?

Barum & Dewar works with an extensive range of established protective case and container manufacturers, allowing us to focus on finding the right solution for your application rather than promoting a single product or material.

Standard 19-inch rack format
EIA rack frames provide a familiar equipment interface, with a range of U heights and frame depths available.
Options for heavier payloads
Side-mounted shock systems can accommodate installed payloads in excess of approximately 680 kg, subject to configuration.
Engineered shock isolation
Different shock-mount arrangements allow the isolation system to be selected around equipment weight, centre of gravity and sensitivity.
Choice of isolation systems
Quadraflex, side-mounted, cable-type and compact shock-isolation options allow the mounting approach to respond to different equipment requirements.
Multi-directional protection
Corner-mounted Quadraflex systems are designed to manage shock from different directions during transport and handling.
Designed for demanding transport
Rugged case construction, serviceable hardware and environmental sealing options support repeated professional use.

Designed around your equipment

B&D begins with the electronic system and its actual mass, centre of gravity and shock sensitivity. We also consider how the equipment is accessed, connected, cooled, transported and deployed before defining the appropriate rack arrangement.

Where Thermodyne is selected, B&D can identify the appropriate rack size and shock-isolation arrangement, then integrate the rack into the complete protective packaging and handling solution.

Why Barum & Dewar?

B&D’s approach is to determine the protection requirement first and then select the rack technology that best supports it. Thermodyne’s configurable mounting systems are particularly useful where shock isolation needs to be engineered closely around the installed payload.

Our wider range of DELTA, ZARGES and SKB 19-inch rack cases means that advice can remain focused on equipment protection, weight, handling and deployment rather than on promoting a single manufacturer.
