Peli cases

Rugged protective cases for valuable and sensitive equipment.

Peli cases are widely used where equipment needs durable protection from impact, water, dust and the demands of repeated transportation and handling.

Barum & Dewar supplies Peli cases as part of a much broader protective packaging portfolio. This allows us to select the case according to the equipment and application, before designing the internal protection and other features needed to create a complete solution.

For UK and European customers the products carry the Peli name. Pelican Products was founded in California in 1976, with the Peli brand subsequently created for the European market. Peli and Pelican are the same company and product organisation rather than separate case manufacturers.

About Peli

Peli has built its protective case range around equipment used in environments where reliability matters, including applications across military, emergency services, aerospace, industrial and technical markets.

Its case portfolio encompasses different manufacturing methods, sizes and levels of protection. For B&D, the value of that breadth is the ability to identify an established case that closely matches the physical and operational requirement, then engineer the inside around the equipment itself.

B&D currently includes both Peli Protector and Peli Storm cases within its rugged plastic case portfolio.

Why specify Peli?

Peli products can offer a wide range of benefits to your business, including:

A wide range of case sizes
Peli’s breadth of formats makes it possible to closely match the outer case to equipment ranging from compact electronics to larger systems.
Practical handling
Depending on model, features include pressure equalisation, carrying handles, wheels, towing handles and secure locking points.
Rugged polymer construction
Protector and Storm cases are designed for repeated professional use and demanding transportation environments.
Designed to accept engineered interiors
The unobstructed case format creates a strong platform for B&D to integrate custom foam and other internal equipment protection.
Environmental protection
IP67 protection applies across relevant products within the ranges, helping protect sensitive contents against dust and water ingress.
Expert design

Designed around your equipment

A rugged empty case is not a complete protective packaging solution.

B&D considers the size, weight and fragility of the contents as well as the anticipated shock, vibration, handling and environmental conditions. This allows us to determine the appropriate Peli case and design the internal arrangement around the actual equipment.

Our in-house capability includes precision-engineered foam protection and more complex internal fitments where required. We can also consider accessories, equipment organisation, access and packing sequence so that protection does not come at the expense of operational usability.

Because B&D works across multiple manufacturers, Peli is specified where it is the right fit for the application rather than simply because it is a familiar brand.

    Protective foam

    Selecting the right foam

Different equipment and environments require different material characteristics.

B&D has access to foam grades offering properties including closed-cell and open-cell construction, different densities, enhanced durability, high-temperature performance, flame retardancy and conductive properties.

Material selection is therefore based on the application rather than using a single foam type for every requirement.
