SKB 3r cases

Heavy-duty rotomoulded cases developed for demanding transport, deployment and storage requirements.

The SKB 3R Series uses rotationally moulded polyethylene construction to create a highly durable protective shell for equipment that may face demanding shipping and operational conditions.

Current products are manufactured from impact-resistant, UV-stabilised LLDPE and use gasket sealing, pressure relief and stainless-steel hardware. The range includes multiple sizes and formats, with wheels and different interior options available on relevant models.

For B&D, 3R provides a rugged case platform for requirements where the scale, weight or operating environment makes a heavier-duty rotomoulded solution appropriate. Case selection remains part of the wider design process rather than a standalone product decision.

Why choose this solution?

Barum & Dewar works with an extensive range of established protective case and container manufacturers, allowing us to focus on finding the right solution for your application rather than promoting a single product or material.

Rotomoulded strength
LLDPE construction creates a robust shell designed to withstand repeated impact and demanding logistics environments.
Durable hardware
Stainless-steel latches and hinges are designed to withstand repeated use and resist corrosion.
Water and dust protection
Current 3R products use gasket-sealed construction and have been tested to MIL-STD-810H to blowing rain, blowing sand and blowing dust.
Pressure management
Pressure relief or breather valves help manage atmospheric changes while maintaining the sealed case environment.
Military-standard performance
The range is designed around demanding military specifications, with current products referencing MIL-STD-810H performance.
Large-equipment flexibility
The breadth of 3R dimensions makes the range particularly useful where equipment does not fit smaller injection-moulded formats.

Designed around your equipment

B&D assesses whether a rotomoulded case is appropriate by considering the equipment weight, geometry and sensitivity together with the logistics and operating environment.

Where SKB 3R is selected, the internal protection is developed around the equipment so that loads are controlled and the available volume is used effectively. The design can also account for movement, access and repeated packing or deployment where these are critical to the user.

Why Barum & Dewar?

B&D works across both injection-moulded and rotomoulded case families, meaning our team can assess the requirement without needing to favour one construction method. We combine that product choice with in-house engineering and design to create a solution around the equipment itself.

Our established relationship with SKB also supports projects that require a coordinated mix of cases and 19-inch rack solutions within the same programme.
